Subprime Bailout Articles
Just wanted to share a few links that cite/argue for a government bailout for subprime mortgage holders w/tax money.
Washington Post
Cites Senator Clinton's and Senator Dodd's efforts to bailout subprime mortgage holders w/federal tax money.
PIMCO
A fixed-income manager who believes that the government should bailout subprimers in the way it bailed Chrysler out. He's probably losing some (if not a lot of) money right now.
The New Yorker
Argues from the point that Wall Street is not Main Street, as some believe.
On a related note, visit patrick.net and observe the more mainstream location of the links he posts (such as the New York Times, newsweek.com, etc.). In the past he usually just cited obscure housing bubble links by really bitter people. One of the most educational sites for me as been Dr. Housing Bubble. His Duesenberg article was really cool--I'm starting to really like economics. Another great site is Marginal Revolution by Tyler Cowen. His new book Discover Your Inner Economist is getting a lot of press lately. He also loves classical music and has contributed a ton on the arts and commerce. We have virtually the same taste in music, but for some reason he doesn't like Radiohead. I emailed him about it and he said that he likes them more than he used to, though he prefers My Bloody Valentine, one of my other favorites. Anyway, he's a real polymath if there ever was one; read all about him here.*
*I love the link function on Blogger. Its so much fun!
